Toy box in Marri

I’m in the process of making this toy box which matches the design of existing pieces of furniture in the client’s home. Instead of using dovetail joints on the corners like my original toy box design, I’ve incorporated a sliding dovetail joint on these corners. This ensures a solid construction with no visible fixings. As with all of my toy boxes/blanket chests, brass butt hinges and friction stays will be used on the lid. Also the base is western red cedar, so if the box is used to store clothes/bedding at a later date it will protect them from moths and other insects. The toy box is for the home theatre room, which will also house a custom made tv cabinet, built in the same style.
