Display cabinet was made to store the clients extensive collection of DVD’s, and to also match the design of the TV cabinet I also made for them. Overall size is 2000mm long x 2300mm high, with the base unit being 750mm high x 550mm deep; and the shelving unit 235mm deep. All the shelves are adjustable so as it can be used for book shelving if required at a later date. The 4 drawers all run on push to open runners which are hidden beneath the drawer bases, and the doors are also push to open. Sliding dovetail joints were used to form the shelving unit, and dovetail joints and housing joints were used in all the structural joins of the base unit to ensure maximum strength and longevity. 50mm thick solid Western Australian Marri timber was used throughout the cabinet.
