The concept for this banquet seating came about due to the client’s requirement for more storage space in their apartment. By making the seat hinged the space underneath made for a valuable, easy access storage area. The timber used for the majority of the seating was made from an existing island bench that when planed back and sanded up uncovered some nice rosewood timber. The storage area of the seating was made from american walnut which had a coat of stain applied to help blend in with the rosewood timber. The unit sits on adjustable brushed aluminium feet which were used to blend in with other furniture fittings throughout the apartment.
